Testimonials
| Spontaneous
compliments from clients in cards and notes to me...
"I'm most grateful and
appreciative of the consideration & care you've provided in looking
after my account & advising me, (especially these past 10 years) but I'm
sure most of your clients feel the same about you."
"I would comment that you are a very conscientious communicator about
the securities you recommend to trade, and that I can actually
understand what you are doing and why. Also, I appreciate that you are
regularly reviewing my portfolio of securities with a view to trading
out the sub-standard performers. "
"Many thanks to you, also for the wonderful job you have done this past
year to keep both my accounts looking good. I do appreciate all your
patience in explaining things to me. Over the past 5 years I have gone
from knowing nothing to understanding more & more. I hope this coming
year is good to you and I wish you best of health & happiness."
“Tom, Thank you as always, for building my investments & RRSP (RRIF) to
where they are today. Over these many years you're always there to
advise, explain & listen to me. I really do appreciate ! ”
"We want to most sincerely thank you for the time and effort you have
expended, on our behalf, over many years looking after our financial
affairs. You sure have shown a lot of patience and understanding, which
made it a pleasure to work with you, and the results were pretty good
too !"

from letters of recommendation...
1) I have known Mr. Rogers professionally and from
working with him on a number of committees at our Church here in
Toronto. Several clients of mine have had their investment portfolios
managed by him in a manner that has indicated both diligent concern,
market awareness and integrity.
2) I have known Tom Rogers since I began my ministry here in 1992. Tom
has participated in several initiatives and served on several committees
at our church, some as Chairperson. I have found Mr. Rogers to be
personable, responsible and conscientious in all his undertakings, and
accordingly have no hesitation in recommending him for any position
requiring initiative and an intelligent, constructive approach. I have
been impressed with Tom's sensitivity and caring in dealing with people,
his deep sense of integrity and his strong commitment to a wide variety
of service projects. His leadership skills and organizational abilities

My Background &
Service and, Beacon Securities Limited
|
Background &
Service Summary
|
Background: Following several
initial years in branch banking and mutual fund administration, I have
enjoyed over 25 years experience as an Investment Advisor working with
very large dealers and small private investment firms - all members of
the Investment Dealers Association of Canada.
I have continually strengthened my qualifications. Beginning with
the Canadian Securities Course, Options and Futures exams, and
Professional Financial Planning Course, my continuing education
progressed to attainment of my designations of Canadian Investment
Manager (CIM), Fellow of Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), and
Certified Financial Planner (CFP). In addition, at management’s request
at the time, I passed the Canadian Branch Manager’s and the Partners,
Directors and Senior Officers qualifying exams.
Recently I attained the designation of Elder Planning Counselor (EPC) by
following a course of study on Elder needs, values and service
requirements.
While at a major firm I was encouraged and able to complete courses
required to become licensed as a life insurance agent. With further
studies I subsequently passed exams to qualify as an "Independent Life
Agent" which is now a separate additional service I am able to provide
for individuals and small businesses in offering a holistic approach to
serve their financial needs
Clients
For the most part, my clients are in professional occupations or are now
retired. A good many have been with me for over 15 years. You may view
the performance of a few of them on my website, at:
www.tomrogers.net/perform.htm
Approach:
I work with my clients to construct and manage their investment
portfolios according to their individual needs. Portfolios generally do
not contain mutual funds; but rather, are designed with specific types
of securities such as common stocks, preferred shares, income and energy
trusts, bonds etc.- with the objective that each security and portfolio
sector fulfill a specific function helping the overall content to be in
line with each client’s objective and the market environment as it
unfolds. I am strongly committed to clear and complete communication
with my clients as their comfortable understanding and agreement is
paramount to me.
Analytics:
I have designed custom financial planning applications capable of
accommodating a wider spectrum of investment holdings and variables than
are available on most commercial versions. In the realm of investment
analysis I have devoted much attention to the timing techniques of
Technical Analysis. In this area I have developed several useful
original studies, some of which are now on my website. I was a founding
member of the Canadian Society of Technical Analysts, and president of
the Society in 1996 - 1998.
Philosophy:
Each client is different in regard to financial needs, aspirations and
temperament. As well, the investment environment is continually evolving
according to economic and perceptual circumstances. It is my role to
ensure each person’s array of financial planning options is adequately
addressed according to the individual’s parameters; and, that investment
recommendations are made in line with current market conditions and
expectations which are my responsibility to assess. In all, my financial
service relationship with clients is to consult with respect, advise
conscientiously and implement at their request.
Community:
I have been continually active within my church community, having been
chairperson of 7 out of 13 committees I have participated in. I am
currently webmaster of our church website at and a longstanding member
of the choir.
